The town of Eastchester is one of the few early American towns to have all of their records intact, from the establishment of the town in 1664, to present day. Colonial Eastchester included the present-day city of Mount Vernon and part of the Borough of the Bronx. Today, Eastchester incorporates the villages of Tuckahoe and Bronxville and extends north to the Scarsdale line, located in lower Westchester County.
